            <description><![CDATA[ Announcing the schedule for the 2009 Maui Vmax GPS Speed Sailing Meetings:<br />
<br />
June 14<br />
July 26<br />
August 16<br />
September 20<br />

Meetings to be held at Spreckelsville beach on Sundays from 12 noon to 4pm. Eligable GPS units GT-11 or GT-31. This is a free event if you own your own GPS. There is no prize-money only glory!<br />
<br />
A limited number of GPS units will be available to rent for $25 for a 2 hour rental. Used GT-11 with Aquapacs will be available for Purchase at $125. New GT-31 with Aquapac available for $214.<br />
<br />
It is recomended that competitors with their own GPS units use them with an SD card. Instruction on use of GT-11/31 will be available.<br />
<br />
Open course - you can sail anywhere within sight of Spreckelsville Beach from 12 noon til 4pm.<br />
<br />
The results will be posted in three formats: 100m, 10 seconds and 5 x 10 second average.  Ranking will be based on 100m speed in the following categories: Open Men, Open Women, Wave.<br />
<br />
Results will be generated and verified by software using positional speed with interpolation. All track files submitted will be open to the public. 5 satellite minimum. The Race Director reserves the right to edit the tracks to remove erroneous data. Tracks with excessive errors will not be accepted. Any track not accepted can be independently reviewed by US timekeeper Craig Berg under appeal. The top 3 speeds or any other result upon protest will be independently reviewed by the US timekeeper.<br />

I wanted to update everyone on the Early Results of The 2009 Midwest Speed Quest.<br />
<br />
The Prizes at the end of the year are similar to past years: $1000 First, $500 Second, $250 Third, $125 Fourth, and $75 Fifth.<br />
<br />
A new &quot;Economic Stimulus Program&quot; has just been announced for 2009. We will pay CASH when certain speeds have been recorded. Putting money into the pockets of the windsurfers now, will help with the recovery efforts!<br />
<br />
NOTE; These stimulus funds will be awarded ON TOP OF the Prizes to be awarded at the end of the year!<br />
<br />
PHASE ONE: Starts May 20, 2009<br />
<br />
30 knots = $200 CASH<br />
<br />
If two or more racers record this speed on the same day, the money will be shared among the winners.<br />
<br />
PHASE TWO: Starts June 10, 2009.<br />
<br />
35 knots = $500 CASH<br />
<br />
PHASE THREE: To Be Announced!!!<br />
<br />

This is a &quot;Special Race Director's Cut&quot; and was produced by Worthington Regatta Race Committee member Jason Swanson.<br />
